Winding springs music department Karl stolz - general music (k-5)
choral director, drum Line leader
Winding Springs Elementary Music Department is a fun-filled place for children to learn all about music. Students are engaged in singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments, as well as learning about musical styles and music history. Mr. Stolz brings 23 years of experience in Elementary Education to his classroom, encouraging all students to experiment with and to share the love of music. This year in 2016-17 we welcome back Mr. Foskey as our 2nd music teacher. Please make him feel welcome at Winding Springs! He will be teaching some of our K, 1, 4th, and 5th grades in music class!
Children from Kindergarten through 5th grade enjoy the general music program by singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments every day.
2nd Graders perform in a school musical each year.
3rd Graders begin to read musical notation through the use of recorder flutes.
4th and 5th Graders may choose to participate in the school chorus, traveling all over the Charlotte area to perform.
4th and 5th Graders may also choose to join the Winding Springs Marching Eagles, the youngest marching drum line in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
